Since 1970, the Golden Valley County Historical Society has showcased, displayed, and authenticate ditems used and donated by Golden Valley County residents of the past. We strive to validate the use of the items here in the museum so that folks can be reminded of, or educated to the use or purpose of antiques/items displayed. Our goal 

  

Since 1970, the Golden Valley County Historical Society has showcased, displayed, and authenticate ditems used and donated by Golden Valley County residents of the past. We strive to validate the use of the items here in the museum so that folks can be reminded of, or educated to the use or purpose of antiques/items displayed. Our goal is to preserve items from the past to interest people to know their heritage and ways of life in Golden Valley County, North Dakota.

We own and maintain 5 buildings: Shultz Building (main museum and office), Little Beaver School from 1909 that has been relocated to a lot adjacent to main museum building, Halstead Building that houses a historic Hart Parr tractor, the Machine shed, and the Sentinel Butte Congregational Church.

In addition to the buildings in Beach, North Dakota, the Golden Valley County Historical Society owns and maintains the Congregational Church in nearby Sentinel Butte, North Dakota

We are currently asking for community support to help us raise funds to re-shingle the roof and paint the exterior of the Sentinel Butte Congregational Church.  Any donation would be welcomed.  Contact our President to find out how to donate ...cash or hours of volunteer time.
